Young drivers get safety lesson at Thatcham research centre

Young drivers have been getting a graphic demonstration of why the government wants to make the driving test tougher.

Proposals being considered include having a minimum period of learning, compulsory lessons on driving at night time, and on motorways.

The motor industry's insurance research centre at Thatcham in Berkshire has been showing learners some of its work to improve road safety.
