Man dies in Datchet house blaze

The fire at the property in Linchfield Road, Datchet About 25 firefighters tackled the blaze which police said was not being treated as suspicious

A man has died in a house fire in Berkshire.

Crews were called to the two-storey detached property on Linchfield Road in Datchet, Slough, at about 08:20 GMT.

It took about 25 firefighters to put out the blaze, which caused 80% damage to the first floor and roof. The cause is being investigated.

Thames Valley Police said it was not being treated as suspicious. The man's next of kin have been informed.
