Slough taxi driver victim of attempted armed robbery

A taxi driver is recovering in hospital after two men attempted to rob him at gun point in Berkshire.

The taxi picked up two passengers outside Easy Gym in Slough's High Street at about 06:30 GMT on Friday.

Police said one of the men pulled a gun and assaulted the driver during the journey. He stopped the car in Shaggy Calf Lane where a "scuffle broke out".

The driver suffered head injuries and was "left very shaken" by the incident. No money was taken.

After the scuffle the two men ran off towards Kendall Drive.

The first man has been described as black and in his late teens to early twenties.

The second man is described as mixed race and in his late teens to early twenties.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
