Man in his 90s assaulted during aggravated burglary

A man in his 90s was attacked in his Berkshire home during a "cowardly" aggravated burglary.

The two offenders forced their way into the victim's home in Maryside, Langley, and searched the property on Monday evening,

They then woke up the victim, who was asleep in the lounge, before one of the men attacked him and demanded money before fleeing.

Detectives say the victim was unhurt but "very shaken" by his ordeal.

The amount stolen has not yet been revealed by Thames Valley Police.

Det Sgt Nikki Pierce said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the elderly victim, who was threatened and assaulted in his own home.

"These men have committed a cowardly and heartless crime and need to be brought to justice".

One of the men is described as white, 5ft 8in and well-built with a round face.
