Reading security van robbery: 'suspects armed'
Thieves have stolen hundreds of pounds after ramming a security van driver with a bicycle and threatening him with a handgun.
The two men attacked the 52-year-old driver after he completed a delivery on Basingstoke Road in Reading at about 16:55 BST on Monday.
Det Con Mandy Brownlie, of Force CID, added: "This was a nasty attack on the victim on a shopping street."
The victim was struck on the back of the head and suffered cuts and bruises.
He had just made a delivery to a nearby camping shop. He was then assaulted with the pushbike and threatened with a gun. The two men stole a cash box and ran away towards Buckland Road.
Thames Valley Police do not know if the gun was real or a replica.
