Pair sentenced after Bracknell baby suffered broken legs

A man and a woman from Berkshire have been sentenced over injuries suffered by a seven-month-old girl.

The baby girl was taken to hospital with numerous fractures to her legs in March 2011.

The man, 28, was jailed for two years for causing grievous bodily harm and child neglect.

The 22-year-old woman was given a 12-month community order after she was convicted of child neglect. The baby is expected to make a full recovery.

Det Con Andy Ward, from Thames Valley Police, said: "This has been a complex investigation and I welcome the sentence given to the two defendants."
