Greenham Common memorial to US servicemen takes shape
A memorial to US servicemen who lost their lives in two accidents above a former Berkshire airbase is taking shape.
Nearly 50 men from Greenham Common died in two horrific accidents just before the end of World War II.
Every year, relatives cross the Atlantic to attend memorial services.
Newbury's Royal British Legion and the Greenham Common Trust have now raised enough money to have a new stone memorial carved by hand.
