Newbury stab death: Three men appear in court

Three men have appeared at Reading Crown Court charged with the murder of 38-year-old Darren Lock, who died from stab wounds in Berkshire.

Mr Lock, who lived in Newbury was found in Queen's Road, Newbury, on 16 March.

Joshua Anderson, 22 and Matthew Anderson, 20, both of no fixed abode, and Dean Robinson, 32, from Thatcham, were remanded in custody until 14 June 2012.

The three were also charged with attempted murder of a 33-year-old man.

The man was found seriously injured in Boundary Road, also in Newbury, on the same night.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

Joshua Anderson and Matthew Anderson have also been charged with causing actual bodily harm in connection with an assault on a 43-year-old man near The Plough pub in Greenham Road, Newbury, on the same evening as the two stabbings.

They have also been charged in connection with assaults on two men, aged 21 and 22, in Thatcham town centre at about 01:00 GMT on 17 March.

A 32-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on police bail until 6 June.
