New John Lewis store in Newbury will create 160 jobs

A new department store opening in Newbury town centre is set to create 160 jobs.

John Lewis at home, which focuses on furniture and homeware, is due to open in 2012 at the town's new Parkway development.

John Lewis Partnership said it was investing £8m into the site.

Hemant Amin from West Berkshire Chamber of Commerce said: "It's fantastic news and the creation of 160 jobs is very good."

The Parkway development is due to open in October.
