M4 in Berkshire shut after seven-car crash

The M4 in Berkshire has been closed by police for several hours after an accident involving seven cars.

Motorists faced delays of up to one-and-a-half hours after the crash just after 1800 BST on the eastbound carriageway at junction six for Slough.

Traffic was diverted around the accident which also left a large amount of debris across the lanes.

No-one involved needed hospital treatment. The carriageway was expected to be reopened by 2200 BST.

The ambulance service had originally said it believed up to 10 vehicles could have been involved.
