Motorbike robber raids Ascot jewellers

An investigation has started after a Berkshire jewellery shop was robbed.

A man posing as a customer entered Ascot Goldsmiths, in Course Road, before assaulting a member of staff and stealing jewellery.

The worker suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital following the robbery on Tuesday at 1120 BST. Details have now been released by police.

The robber made his escape on a motorbike with another man and drove off along the High Street.

Shortly afterwards the motorbike was found abandoned near Cheapside Road, Ascot.

Police believe the pair then made off in a silver-coloured van with writing on the side.
