Mother suspected of overlaying after Chesham baby dies

A 38-year-old mother has been arrested after her baby daughter was found dead.

Police were called to the woman's home in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, at 09:30 BST and later arrested her on suspicion of overlaying.

This is a term used when a baby is suffocated when somebody lies on them while in bed.

It is understood the baby girl was just a few weeks old. Thames Valley Police said it was investigating "the exact circumstances" of the girl's death.
