The M25 in Hertfordshire has reopened after an articulated lorry caught fire on the anti-clockwise carriageway, the Highways Agency said.

The blaze started just after midday on Thursday between junctions 22 for the A1081 and 21A for the A405 near St Albans.

The anti-clockwise carriageway was closed between junctions 23 and 21A until about 04:00 BST for resurfacing.

The agency said it completed the work ahead of schedule.
