Boy, 15, charged with attempted murder and rape of girl, 14

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the attempted murder and rape of a teenage girl in Luton.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of attacking a 14-year-old girl in Lewsey Park on Sunday.

He appeared at Luton Youth Court earlier and was remanded in youth detention to appear at Luton Crown Court on 11 February.

Police said the girl, who has head injuries, was in a critical condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
