Man critical after crashing into Fox and Hounds pub near Barley

A man was critically injured after crashing his car into a pub in Hertfordshire.

The accident happened on Tuesday lunchtime at the Fox and Hounds in Barley, near Royston.

The man was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge with serious facial injuries, an ambulance service spokesman said. No-one else was hurt.

Hertfordshire Police said the car had crashed through the 17th Century building and ended up in the kitchen.

Members of the fire service assessed the damage and a structural engineer has been called in.
