Aylesbury murder inquiry: Crossbow bolt caused death

A man was shot dead with a crossbow, post-mortem tests have revealed.

Darrell Farnham, 44, was found dead at a property in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on Sunday night.

Initially it was thought he had suffered a gunshot wound but he was killed by a metal crossbow bolt passing through his body, police said.

A 40-year-old man from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 37-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Det Supt Chris Ward said: "We believe there could be other offenders and so we are currently concentrating on determining exactly what happened on Sunday night.

"A scene-watch remains in place and I want to thank local residents once again for their help and patience whilst investigations continue.

"We have a dedicated team working to solve this crime and bring any offenders to justice and I want to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated crime and not a random attack."

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the killing in Belgrave Road.
