A 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in a fire in Milton Keynes has been released on bail, police say.

Emergency services were called to a property at St Leger Court, Great Linford, just before 20:00 BST on Sunday.

Thames Valley Police said the death of the woman, whose identity has not been released, "remains unexplained".

It said post-mortem examination results had been "inconclusive".

Further tests will now be carried out.

Det Chief Insp, Gill Wootton, said the force was pursuing "a number of enquiries" into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire and the death.

"Although the formal identification has still not been completed, we believe we know the woman's identity and are keeping her next of kin informed of any developments," she said.
