Knife-wielding raider robs woman in her Luton home

A woman was threatened with her own kitchen knife and robbed of jewellery by a man who barged into her home.

The 22-year-old answered a knock to the front door of her home in Third Avenue in Luton at 13:10 GMT on Thursday.

A white man, in his late 20s, barged inside and dragged the victim into the living room, demanding to know where her valuables were.

When the victim refused to tell him, he grabbed the knife and threatened her again before she handed over cash.

The offender then marched the victim upstairs and stole jewellery from her bedroom before fleeing the property.

'Terrifying attack'

The man was described as having a medium to stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded top with white draw strings, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

Det Con Surfraz Hussain said he was keen to hear from anyone who was in Third Avenue at the time and may have seen anything suspicious.

He said: "This was a terrifying attack which has left the victim extremely shaken and upset.

"The victim truly believed that the offender was prepared to use violence during this attack and it is imperative that we locate the individual as quickly as possible.

"We would really like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone else who may have information."
