An ex-model who starred in a car TV advert in the 1980s has been banned for 14 months for drink-driving in Bucks.

Paula Hamilton, 51, of Farnham Common, rose to fame when she played a jilted lover who dumped luxury gifts in the street but kept the keys to a VW Golf.

She admitted one charge of driving with excess alcohol, relating to a crash near her home on 4 September.

Aylesbury magistrates heard she had 106mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.

The court was told that her Hyundai car veered off the road and demolished a garden fence and conservatory.

Magistrates said her ban would be reduced by 14 weeks if she took part in a drink-driving rehabilitation course.

She was also ordered to pay a £160 fine, a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
