Luton Airport charged with safety breaches over fatal road crash
Luton Airport is being prosecuted over alleged health and safety breaches after a woman died in a traffic accident outside the airport.
Mary Whiting, 78, of Norwich, had just returned from a family holiday in May 2009 when she was hit by a truck.
London Luton Airport Operations Ltd and C-T Aviation Solutions denied health and safety law breaches at a hearing before Luton magistrates.
The prosecution has been brought by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The case could be committed on 18 June for trial at Luton Crown Court, court officials said.
In September 2010, Rossano Casagrande, 50, of Fulbridge Road, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, was found not guilty at Luton Crown Court of causing Mrs Whiting's death by careless driving.
The jury took half an hour to reach their unanimous verdict.
