Girl, 14, raped in Bedford park

A 14-year-old girl has been raped by a man in a park in Bedford.

The attack happened as the girl was walking home along a path in Jubilee Park at 2300 BST on Saturday.

The man is black, possibly in his 20s, 6ft (1.83m), of muscular build with a goatee beard and a diamond stud earring in his right ear lobe.

He was wearing a black NY cap, black Nike tracksuit top and black trousers. Police appealed for anyone with information to contact officers.

The girl managed to struggle free after the attack and run away.

Det Con Gemma Ebberson, from Bedfordshire Police, said: "This is a terrible attack on a young girl.

"If anyone was in the Jubilee Park area on Saturday evening and saw this man we would like to hear from them."
