A man has pleaded guilty to four offences after absconding from Ford Open Prison.

Craig Hayler was charged with walking out of the jail in West Sussex in March. The 31-year-old was arrested in Southampton on 29 July.

He appeared before Southampton Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to being unlawfully at large, making off without payment, and two burglaries.

He will be sentenced at the same court on 15 September.
