Three dead in two-vehicle Nottinghamshire crash

Three people have died in a two-vehicle crash on the A1 in north Nottinghamshire.

A stretch of the road was closed in both directions for several hours following the collision at 23.20 BST on Sunday.

Motorists were advised to avoid the A1 after the accident in Ranby near Worksop, police said.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway have since reopened but diversions remain in place for southbound traffic.

One other person injured in the crash was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with minor injuries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
