Higher education colleges and roads will be the main recipients of £0.5bn in government funding for the Eastern region.

It will go to projects selected by local enterprise partnerships, and is part of a package of £6bn funding across the UK.

They include investments in West Anglia College in King's Lynn, Lowestoft College, Northampton College and Easton & Otley College in Norfolk.

Money will also go towards roads including an improved link from Milton Keynes to the M1, improvements to the A127 in Essex, a bypass for Bungay in Suffolk and a relief road for Bury St Edmunds.
