Sheffield attack suspect held on suspicion of murder

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a student died following an attack in Sheffield.

Anowar Tagabo, 25, a student at the University of Bradford, was assaulted outside a nightclub on Carver Street at about 04:20 BST on 25 May. He died in hospital nine days later.

A post-mortem examination revealed he had suffered a fatal head injury.

The arrested suspect is in custody being questioned by officers, South Yorkshire Police said.

Mr Tagabo, originally from Sudan, was studying peace and development in Bradford.
