Scooter obstacle course hones skills

They have been described as a menace, causing accidents because of careless manoeuvring.

But the mobility scooter offers a lifeline to many people who cannot get about.

Now Middlesbrough Council has become one of the first in England to offer safety courses, as well as an obstacle course, to help first-time users hone their driving skills.

Look North's Stuart Whincup went to try out the course.
