East of England Co-op facing 'increased competition'

The East of England Co-operative Society may be separate from the national Co-operative group but is also facing challenges.

Its 134 food stores over Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex are battling to keep their market share, squeezed by the arrival of rival supermarkets.

In one Suffolk town it lost 40% of its trade overnight when a another store opened nearby.
