Somerset PC denies attack on Premier Inn night porter

An Avon and Somerset Police officer accused of attacking a Premier Inn night porter is to face a trial.

PC Gary Tester, 43, from Weston-super-Mare, appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court where he denied a charge of assault by beating.

He was arrested after allegedly attacking night porter Terry Sullivan in the early hours of 19 January at a hotel in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The case was adjourned for trial on 11 August.

Avon and Somerset Police's Professional Standards Unit has launched a full investigation into the alleged incident.
