Asda announces 200 redundancies in Leeds and Lutterworth

The Leeds-based supermarket Asda has announced about 200 job losses at its head offices in Leeds and Leicestershire.

Staff were told this morning that the redundancies will take place at Asda House in Leeds and the George clothing headquarters in Lutterworth.

The company said 4,000 people work at the two sites.

So far details have not been released of how many jobs will be lost in each area.

The news comes as the supermarket giant announced around 400 jobs in Chorley, Lancashire.
