Body found in Lake District in search for missing man

James Lonsdale James Lonsdale's family and the coroner have been informed

Mountain rescue teams searching for a North Yorkshire man missing on a Lake District mountain have found a body.

James Lonsdale, 53, was last seen at home in Selby at about 06:30 GMT on Tuesday before leaving for Scafell Pike.

His vehicle was later found at Wasdale Head.

A man's body was discovered in a waterfall pool south west of the Great Gable summit at about 13:00 GMT. He has not yet been formally identified.
