Man extradited to UK faces sex trafficking charges

A 37-year-old man who was extradited to the UK from Hungary has been charged with sex trafficking offences.

Attila Kolompar was arrested by officers from Home Office Immigration Enforcement Criminal Investigations at Heathrow Airport on Monday.

He is accused of conspiracy to traffic girls into the UK and trafficking persons into the UK for sexual exploitation and prostitution.

Mr Kolompar appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday 3 April.

A spokesman for the Home Office said he was arrested by the Hungarian authorities over the weekend following a UK investigation into people trafficking.
