A cyclist found injured in the road after being the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Cheshire has died in hospital.

Terry Brown, 47, from Great Sankey, Warrington, was found with serious head injuries by a passing motorist on the A57 Warrington Road, Bold Heath, near Widnes early on Tuesday.

Police believe a vehicle collided with his racing bike and failed to stop.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Warrington on Tuesday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
