A man who was found on fire in a Surrey graveyard is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The man in his 20s from Crawley in West Sussex was discovered alight in Horley, Surrey Police said.

He was spotted in the grounds of St Bartholomew's Church on Church Road at just after 21:00 GMT on Monday.

A group of people managed to put out the flames before the man was taken to hospital. Why the man was alight is still under investigation.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Surrey Police.
