Food bin thefts 'fed 30 people'

30 January 2014 Last updated at 10:09 GMT

The case against three men accused of stealing food from bins outside an Iceland store in Kentish Town, north London, has been dropped by prosecutors.

William James, one of the three men arrested in October, has told Radio 4's Today programme he plans to continue taking food from skips and bins in future.

He said a group of 30 people "live off" the food that is recovered, many of whom are unable to afford to buy their own.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 30 January 2014.
