Woman in court charged with two counts of child abduction

A woman has appeared in court charged with child abduction after two young children were allegedly snatched from a hotel in October.

They had been staying at the Quality Inn, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, and were found unharmed at a Derby guesthouse.

Denise Smith-Sellars, 67, of Kelso Gardens, Nottingham, was also charged with assisting an offender.

She appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre and was bailed to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 3 February.

She was charged with two counts of child abduction.
