PM announces improvement study for A47 and A12

The Prime Minister has said improved road and rail links would put the East of England at the heart of the Britain's economic recovery.

David Cameron was speaking on a visit to the region as new figures revealed more money was being spent on transport schemes in the east than anywhere in the country outside London, with £1.9bn already invested into the region's infrastructure.

While in Suffolk to examine progress on the dualling of the final stretch of the A11, he also announced a study of the A47 would look at improving the A12 between Norfolk and Suffolk.
