Ex-prisoner Peter Watton denies Chester rape attack
A man attacked and raped a woman two days after being released from prison, a court has heard.
Peter Watton, 37, of Lache, Chester, denies attacking the 44-year-old woman who was jogging with her dog in the city in June.
He had just been released halfway through a six-year sentence for kidnap and robbery, Chester Crown Court heard.
The jury was told he subjected the woman to a nine-hour assault. Watton claims she consented to sex.
The prosecution said that throughout the woman's ordeal Watton tried to get his victim to feel sorry for him and threatened to kill himself through a drug overdose.
When the woman tried to build a rapport with him so he would let her go, the court heard he told her that if police were called he would "take a lot of them out".
The court was told he had admitted trying to kidnap a woman while posing as a police officer in 1999.
Watton faces twelve charges including rape and kidnap.
The case continues.
