Taxi driver attacked over fare in Hookwood

A taxi driver was attacked after five passengers refused to pay their fare between West Sussex and Surrey.

The two men and three women were picked up outside the Moka nightclub in Crawley before being taken to the Black Horse pub on Reigate Road, Hookwood.

The driver of the white Ford Galaxy taxi was attacked at about 02:15 GMT, after the passengers refused to pay the fare, Surrey Police said.

He was treated in hospital for facial and hand injuries.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Surrey Police.
