Delays on M5 northbound after fatal accident

There are delays on the M5 on the border between Devon and Somerset following a fatal accident.

The road was shut northbound between junction 27 and 26 after a car left the carriageway and went down an embankment, ending up in a field.

It was closed to enable collision investigators to examine the scene but one lane has now reopened.

Officers are advising people travelling north from Devon and Cornwall to expect delays and seek alternative routes.
