Human trafficking arrests made in Leicester and Northamptonshire

Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of being involved in human trafficking and benefit fraud in police raids across Leicester and Northamptonshire.

The six men and one woman were being questioned by investigators from the National Crime Agency and Department for Work and Pensions.

Five Leicester addresses and two in Northamptonshire were raided.

Police said a "small number of people" were found at the premises.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said the raids followed a "long and complex" investigation.
