A 37-year-old man has been charged with seven offences including conspiracy to commit robbery, after being arrested in Cumbria.

Brian Thexton, from Durham, is accused of being part of a gang.

Cumbria Police said he was arrested by uniformed officers shortly before 20:00 GMT on Tuesday at a rural property near Kirkby Stephen.

Mr Thexton will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on 12 December charged with seven offences.

He has been charged with two offences of conspiracy to commit robbery, one of conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to conceal criminal property, aggravated vehicle taking and two driving offences.
