Andrew Wood named as Doncaster lorry crash victim

A 37-year-old man who died after being hit by a lorry on a dual carriageway in South Yorkshire has been named police.

Andrew Wood, from Scunthorpe, was struck by a red Mercedes HGV on the A630 Balby Road in Doncaster on Saturday morning.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he later died.

It is not known why Mr Wood was on the road, said South Yorkshire Police. An inquest into his death is due to be opened on Friday.
