Peterborough man charged with Great Yarmouth stairwell murder

A man has been charged with murdering another man who died from head injuries in a stairwell in Norfolk.

Paulius Jakovlevas, 38, was found dead at flats in Wellesley Road, Great Yarmouth, on Monday.

Kestutis Sloiogeris, 39, of Cromwell Road, Peterborough, has been charged with his murder and will appear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday.

A 40-year-old woman from the Peterborough area who was also arrested remains in custody.

Police said she would be transferred to Norfolk for questioning.

Mr Jakovlevas had been living in the Great Yarmouth area since August. His body was found on Monday morning.

A post-mortem examination indicated he died from severe head injuries.
