Police are trying to trace a woman in connection with the death of a man, whose body was found in a stairwell at a property in Norfolk.

Paulius Jakovlevas, 38, was found with fatal head injuries at flats in Wellesley Road, Great Yarmouth, on Monday.

Police wish to speak to Anjelika Bakanovaite, 40, who is believed to be in the Peterborough area.

They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Officers have been given more time to question a Peterborough man in his late 30s who has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police said Ms Bakanovaite was last seen leaving the flats at about 07:00 GMT on Monday.

She is then thought to have caught the 07:55 GMT X1 bus from the Market Gates area into Norwich, before catching the 11:35 GMT bus to Peterborough.

Det Insp Andy Guy said: "Two key elements of the enquiry we are keen to piece together are Mr Jakovlevas' whereabouts prior to his death and the current location of Anjelika Bakanovaite.

"Our last confirmed sighting of Mr Jakovlevas was at 5:30pm on Friday 8 November in Yarmouth.

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw him after that time or has information about it."

Police said Mr Jakovlevas had been living in the Great Yarmouth area since August.
