West region battered as storm sweeps in

28 October 2013 Last updated at 21:45 GMT

The west of England is recovering after being battered by high winds and heavy rain.

Gusts up to 75 mph (121 kmh) caused trees to crash onto buildings and cars, while thousands of homes were left without electricity after power lines were blown down.

Somerset and Wiltshire were the worst affected areas in the region.
