Sussex woman's barrier plea for Hailsham car crash pond

24 September 2013 Last updated at 20:39 BST

Nine cars have crashed into a woman's pond in Sussex in the past 20 years, and four vehicles have ended up in her neighbour's hedge after road accidents, prompting a plea for road safety measures.

Stella Lemmon, of Ersham Road, Hailsham, has asked East Sussex County Council for crash barriers to be installed and traffic calming measures to prevent further accidents.

She said the local authority had written to her to say barriers were not a priority because of budget restraints, but David Williams, from the road safety charity GEM, said remedial measures were needed.
