A music festival on the Worcestershire Shropshire border has been cancelled just over a week before the event due to "unforeseen financial reasons".

The two day Ringmaster festival was due to take place at Hopton Court, near Cleobury Mortimer from 27 September.

Headline acts included Maximo Park, Hadouken, and the Mystery Jets.

Organisers said in a statement: "The festival was no longer able to guarantee the appropriate monies owed to the bands and other parties."

"[Ringmaster] would like to offer everyone their sincere apologies, in what has become a horrendous and saddening situation," it added.

Organisers said all tickets would be refunded and that people should get in touch with their ticket providers for more information.
