A47 upgrade: MPs lobby Stephen Hammond for investment

17 September 2013 Last updated at 10:34 BST

A call for improvements to the A47 has been made by Norfolk MPs to a transport minister during his visit to the county.

Stephen Hammond saw the road for himself and heard MPs argue the case for it to be upgraded.

Running from Great Yarmouth, through Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and on to Peterborough, the A47 is seen as a key road taking business and goods to and from the Midlands.

MPs, local councils and businesses are calling on the government to invest £800m to upgrade the road.
