A driver who admitted causing the death of a 16-year-old girl by careless driving has denied trying to cover up the crash by getting his car repaired.

Moped rider Jade Clark, from Ringwood, Hampshire, died in the collision on the A31 in Dorset, on 24 February.

Brian Hampton, 58, of Shadoxhurst, Kent, pleaded guilty on 21 June to causing death by careless driving.

He is on trial accused of perverting the course of justice by getting his vehicle repaired to avoid detection.
