Kidderminster kidnapping accused pair remanded

Two Birmingham men have been remanded in custody charged with conspiracy to kidnap a man in Worcestershire.

Tariq Mahmood, 41, of Castle Hill Drives, Castle Bromwich, and Tehery Mahmood, 37, of Mears Drive, Stechford, appeared before magistrates earlier.

Both are due at Worcester Crown Court on 11 November.

West Mercia Police said the victim, 37, was taken in Kidderminster on 3 August and found two days later by ambulance crews in Alum Rock, Birmingham.

Co-defendants Robert Watters, aged 47, of Chester Road, Castle Bromwich, Robert Collins, aged 58, of Eastham Court, Severnside, Bewdley, and Steven Taylor, aged 37, of Johnstone Street, Aston, Birmingham will also appear in court on 11 November.

Mr Watters and Mr Collins appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on 8 August and Mr Taylor appeared for a remand hearing on 16 August.

All five men are charged with conspiracy to kidnap.

A man and a woman remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

The victim, who was taken in Upton Street, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged, police said.
